Winter 2025 After School Clubs – Registration opens on Monday December 9

Carlin Springs After School Clubs – Winter Registration starts on Monday, December 9, 2024.

This winter season, we will offer after school clubs for K- 5th grades. There are limited spaces in each club, so register fast!

  • Clubs begin on Tuesday, January 21 and end on Thursday, March 27, 2025.  (2:40 to 4:30 p.m.).
  • Each club has a one time $5 fee due before the club begins. If this fee is a challenge for you, please let us know.
  • You will receive an email confirmation about club enrollment during the week of January 13, 2025.
  • Club fees can be sent after receiving your confirmation of enrollment.
  • All clubs are in-person at Carlin Springs.
  • Snacks provided.
  • Students can ride the Late Bus after Clubs if they are eligible (@4:30 pm).
  • Clubs will be filled first come, first serve.

Winter 2025 Club Descriptions (Tuesday, January 21 – Thursday, March 27 ,2025)

Club options for each grade level-

Kinder: Animal Tales Club

1st Grade: Art Club, Dance Club, Robots On The Move Club

2nd Grade: Art Club, Dance Club, First Tee Golf Club, On Stage Drama Club, Robots On The Move Club

3rd Grade: Calligraphy Club, First Tee Golf Club, International Dance Club, On Stage Drama Club

4th Grade: Arts & Crafts Club, Basketball Club, Calligraphy Club, International Dance Club, On Stage Drama Club

5th Grade: Arts & Crafts Club, Basketball Club, Calligraphy Club, International Dance Club, On Stage Drama Club

Kindergarten Options

Animal Tales: Kindergarten- Wednesdays

Hop, slither, soar, and swing into an animal adventure! In this fun and physically engaging class, students will use their bodies, voices, and imaginations to recreate animals from all over the world. Through improvisation games, dramatizing stories, and teamwork, young actors will growl, howl, and prowl their way to the stage. This club will be facilitated by staff from the Educational Theatre Company.

1st Grade Options

Art Club: 1st & 2nd grade- Wednesdays

Calling all artists! This club will be facilitated by staff from the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington (MOCA) and we will do creative projects in various two- and three-dimensional media. Line, color, shape, texture, space, and form will all be emphasized through projects based on our observations and imaginations.

Dance Club: 1st & 2nd grade- Mondays

Have fun learning different styles of dance in a very active way. Learn to express yourself, implement ideas in movement, and have a great creative effort with friends. You’ll learn physical skills, stretch your muscles, and be a star! This club will be run by staff from the Jane Franklin Dance Company.

Robots On The Move: 1st & 2nd grade- Thursdays

Our teams will use visual programming to control their robot and virtual robot to learn about sequences, loops, conditionals, functions, variables, problem-solving, and more. The teams are challenged to use their skills, creativity, and collaboration to conquer coding challenges. Coaches will follow the team member’s’ progress in real-time and offer individualized programming techniques to help them advance to the next level.

2nd Grade Options

First Tee Golf Club: 2nd & 3rd grade- Tuesdays

Students will participate in an interactive club experience that will introduce the basic fundamentals of golf. This course will create a learning environment where students can be taught basic rules of golf, scoring, motor skills, and the inherent values of golf.

On Stage Drama Club: 2nd-5th grade-Tuesdays AND Thursdays

In this club, students will learn the basics of playwriting, casting and then performing a play. You will get to be an actor! Use your body, voice, and imagination to tell stories! We will work together to write our own story and act it out. We will share our play with families and friends!

Robots On The Move: 1st & 2nd grade- Thursdays

Learning to write calligraphy helps develop fine motor skills and coordination, encourages creativity and is a practical skill you can use all your life. Explore hand-lettering and creative calligraphy through introductory techniques, inking and penciling, and experimenting with a creative letter-based style of their own design!

First Tee Golf Club: 2nd & 3rd grade- Tuesdays

International Dance Club: 3rd, 4th & 5th grade- Thursdays

Join to learn exciting Hispanic and Indian dance styles! Students will develop rhythm, coordination, and confidence—and will have the opportunity to perform for their peers at school. No dance experience needed—just bring your energy and love for music!

On Stage Drama Club: 2nd-5th grade- Tuesdays AND Thursdays

In this club, students will learn the basics of playwriting, casting and then performing a play. You will get to be an actor! Use your body, voice, and imagination to tell stories! We will work together to write our own story and act it out. We will share our play with families and friends!

4th & 5th Grade Options:

Arts and Crafts Club: 4th- 5th grade-Thursdays

Use your imagination and creativity to learn a variety of crafts you can bring home. We will explore beading, collaging, macrame, greeting cards, and other fun arts and crafts!

Basketball Club: 4th- 5th grade-Tuesdays

Join us to build skills, teamwork, and confidence on the court! This club is open to all skill levels and will focus on fundamental basketball techniques, drills, and gameplay strategies. Students will learn dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive moves through fun and engaging activities. Make new friends, stay active, and improve athletic skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Come ready to hustle, learn, and have a blast!
