Professional School Counselors

Megan Grasso

Hi!  I’m Megan Grasso and I am the full-time professional school counselor at Carlin Springs.  This is my fifth year as a school counselor and first year in Arlington Public Schools and Carlin Springs.  For the past four years, I have been a school counselor in Fairfax County Public Schools.  Prior to becoming a school counselor, I was a special education teacher for three years in DC Public Schools.    After teaching, I earned my Masters in School Counseling from George Washington University in 2014.  I hold a Virginia license in School Counseling and I am a member of the American School Counselor Association.  I grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Arlington in 2009 where I currently live with my husband, son and dog.    Throughout the year, I will be providing counseling lessons to students in grades K, 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th.  I will also run small counseling groups and meet with individual students in all grade levels as needed.  I am excited to be part of the Carlin Springs community and look forward to getting to know our students and families.  Please feel free to reach out should you have any questions.  I can be reached at:  703-228-8420 or megan.grasso@aspva.us.

This school year, I will be pushing into 2nd grade classes for classroom guidance lessons, and will run small groups and meet with individual students in all grades. Please note that I will be at Carlin Springs on Tuesdays.    I have been a full- or part-time counselor for six years. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I was an Admissions Counselor for my undergraduate alma mater, Queens University of Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. I earned my Masters degree in School Counseling from The George Washington University in May 2011 and hold a Virginia license in School Counseling. I’m originally from the Northern Virginia area and currently live in Arlington with my husband, son, daughter, and two dogs.    Feel free to reach me at: 703-228-8420 or hayley.hannon@apsva.us. I’m looking so forward to the 2018-19 school year, working with the wonderful Carlin Spring’s students, families, and staff members!
